Power Transmission:

Lubrication:

Synthetic Fluids:

These fluids are engineered to provide enhanced performance in extreme temperature conditions or high-pressure environments. They offer superior stability and protection but are more costly than mineral oils.
Example: Polyalphaolefin (PAO) fluids or phosphate esters.

Water-Based Fluids:

These fluids are used in applications requiring fire resistance. Water-based hydraulic fluids include water-glycol and water-oil emulsions. They are less flammable but provide less lubrication than oil-based fluids.
Example: Water-glycol mixtures.

Biodegradable Fluids:

These are environmentally friendly fluids used in industries where fluid leaks could impact the environment, such as agriculture or marine applications. Biodegradable fluids are usually plant-based oils or synthetic esters.
Example: Vegetable-based oils or synthetic ester-based fluids.
Key Considerations:
Viscosity: The viscosity of the fluid affects the system's performance, particularly in terms of flow and heat dissipation.
Temperature Range: Different fluids perform best within specific temperature ranges, and extreme conditions may require specialized fluids.

Compatibility: The fluid must be compatible with the materials used in the cylinder, including seals and hoses, to avoid chemical reactions that could cause damage.
