There is fine intergranular graphite in the working layer of the alloy infinitely chilled roll. The chilling effect and alloy content can control the size, shape, and distribution of graphite and carbide. As manganese, chromium, nickel, molybdenum, and other alloy elements are added, the matrix structure can be pearlite, bainite, or martensite. In addition, there is a small amount of fine graphite, which not only improves the anti-stripping, anti-hot cracking, and wear resistance of the roll but also reduces the hardness drop of the working layer of the roll body. It is used for medium and finish rolling stands of bar, wire rod, and small section steel mills.
